When he was a minister, Schenck challenged a federal district court injunction that restricted pro-life “sidewalk counselors” from approaching men and women with a peaceful, pro-life message. The case, Schenck V. Pro-Choice, reached the United States Supreme Court, which held 8-1 in his favor, striking down the Order as a violation of his First Amendment rights. The Court used his case to strike down similar restrictions across the country.

Paul and his High School sweetheart, Rebecca, married at age eighteen, and they have eight children, ages 30 to 8 years. He and his family came to the Catholic Church in 2004.
